8 Days Adventure Safari Bus Tour
Andalucia
and an excursion to the Algarve of Portugal |
|

|
|
Itinerary:
Malaga -
Granada - Sevilla - Aracena -
Sagres -
Cadiz - Gibraltar - Malaga
|
|
|
|
|
Tour participants meet in Malaga where we become
acquainted with each other over a Welcome- Drink and enjoy
dinner together in the evening. |
| |
|
Saturday, Day
2 |
Malaga
- Granada |
|
|
We plunge straight into our adventure. Between the inland and seaward
mountain ranges of the Costa del Sol we head for Granada.

At the foot of the mountains of the
Sierra Nevada we visit the Moorish Palace of Alhambra
and spend the night in a hotel on the edge of town.
|
| |
|
Sunday, Day
3 |
Granada
- Sevilla |
|
|
We travel to Seville via Cordoba, the former metropolis
of the caliphs and detour to the Mesquita (a Spanish mosque,
one of the best examples of Islamic architecture).

An absolute must for any visitor to Andalucia is
Flamenco, which we enjoy in one of the famous Flamenco restaurants
in Seville, the stronghold of this dance.

In addition, we visit the night spots of this town,
including the 97 meter high Giralda. |
| |
|
Monday, Day
4 |
Sevilla - Aracena |
|
|
After a late night in Seville, we sleep in, take things
a little more slowly, and set off late and well rested.

Our journey leads us westwards, to Aracena to be
exact, where we tour the famous Castillo de Aracena. |
| |
|
Tuesday, Day 5 |
Aracena - Sagres |
|
|
Today starts early and is the longest day on the road.
Those who have been on previous tours will know what we mean. We ride in
the southern sunshine covering the endless distances of Andalucia, pass
and enjoy the Haziendas, the springtime, and forget the grayness of winter.

We drive through Beja and Grandola to the west coast of
Portugal, then with a few stops on the way, far from civilization, round
the most south west corner of Portugal. |
| |
|
Wednesday, Day
6 |
Sagres - Cadiz |
|
|
TWe watch the incomparable sunrise from our hotel rooms.

Before continuing our journey we have time for an
excursion to admire the Fortaleza with her navigational natural wonder, the
famous lighthouse at Cabo de São Vincente.

Following this we go through the provincial capital Faro, and along the
Algarve in the south of Portugal. After this, our Portuguese excursion, we
reach Costa de La Luz, and tread quietly. For the biggest
national park in Spain between Huelva and Cadiz offers a mild climate
throughout the year, and here European migratory birds spend the winter in
the Coto de Donana. Around Puerto de Sta. Maria in the late
afternoon we come to the old seafarer city of Cadiz where we stay. |
| |
|
Thursday, Day
7 |
Cadiz - Gibraltar |
|

Today is devoted to Gibraltar. From Cadiz we travel along the southern
coast of Spain past marvelous sandy beaches to Tarifa, the southernmost
town of Spain. Around endless S-bends, and through a forest of windmills
generating electricity we finally head downhill through Algeciras to
Gibraltar. Although this is British territory we drive on the right!
The Rock is world-famous and we not only join the aptly named
Rock-Tour, but stay in a luxury hotel of the same name. We
immerse ourselves in the typical British atmosphere of this hotel, where
anyone who is anyone – V.I.P.s, politicians, business leaders and film
stars, whether on official business or for private pleasure - spend the
night. Those of simpler tastes may spend the evening enjoying fish and
chips in the Star Bar, Parliament Lane - the oldest pub in
Gibraltar. A sight not to be missed is the view of the ships lit up at
night anchored off Gibraltar. |
| |
|
Friday, Day 8 |
Gibraltar - Malaga |
|
|

In case of delays crossing the border we need to be on our way a little
earlier to avoid the noon heat. After Marbella, the home of the rich and
beautiful, we come after visiting Malaga to the end of our tour and hand
back our Harleys in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free. As is our
custom, the evening is devoted to our traditional Farewell-Dinner
where we relive the events of the tour. JOIN US. |
