Get an eyeful of this behemoth on wheels. But be careful your eyelids don’t get stuck wide open. It’s the 15th Anniversary Fat Boy® motorcycle. A machine built to have its very own gravitational pull. Everything here is super-sized. FL fork tubes like anacondas. Mammoth chrome headlight and nacelle. Floorboards as big as surfboards. Shotgun exhaust pipes that pack a wallop before you ever fire up the engine. Wide tires wrapped around solid disc wheels like thick, juicy bacon around a filet mignon. Twist the throttle of the timeless Heritage Softail® Classic and you are propelled forward and back all at once. Generously studded leather bags. Massive fenders with chrome accents. Throw a leg over an Ultra Classic® Electra Glide® touring bike and it’s like having one boot in the east, one in the west, and you are ruler of all lands in between. We start with a comfort-stitched saddle and passenger backrest, should you choose not to rule alone. Hard bags and King Tour-Pak®. 40-watts-per-channel, 4-speaker AM/FM/CD. Electronic passenger controls. Built-in C.B./voice-activated intercom. Cruise control. A new tank badge. In other words, the whole shebang. But even with all the goodies, this is still a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle at heart. Thumb the starter and the EFI Twin Cam 88® engine instantly declares its time-honored rumble. This year, the fairing lowers get a new venting system to keep the legs cool. So no matter where you are in the world, even the wind is at your command.

The VRSCB model starts with the idea that with 115 horses running directly beneath your saddle, you don’t need much more. So we left the muscle intact and turned the brightness down. You get the same genetics that make a V-Rod® a V-Rod. Aluminum body. 49mm 38° raked fork. 180mm rear tire. The effect of all the shine getting stripped down is an even more raw, aggressive nature. Black calipers. Black brake lines. Black hand controls. Black rear shock springs. And an all-black hydro-formed frame. For 2005, there are five colors and a new, brighter reflector optics headlight to offset all the blackness. The liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 60° V-Twin Revolution® engine with EFI delivers all those stampeding horses. So as the style goes minimalist, the off-the-line power most definitely does not.
