Auckland
- Whitianga |
|
|

After breakfast and the briefing of
the day, we pick up our Motorcycles at the rental-station. Last safety-tips (Keep
Left!) and we start our tour to the Pacific Coast Highway
and the wonderful region of Coromandel. |
| |
|
Tuesday,
Day 3 |
Whitianga
- Rotorua |
|

On our way south
we stop at Cathedral
Cove, a natural rock cathedral which you can only reach after 40 minutes of strenious marching
on foot, but it is worth it's while. We fully enjoy the
cruise following the coast line to Rotorua. Already before we
reach the city we are greeted by sulfur smell and
the bubbling torrenting Geysers.

Pure New Zealand culture is
offered at night in the authentic Maori-Village of the Tamaki-Brothers with a spectacular Maori-Show and
following native
Maori-Dinner. |
| |
|
Wednesday,
Day 4 |
Rotorua
- Wellington |
|

In the morning of
the next day we learn about the mystics of the geysers and the famous Kiwi
birds of Te Puia.

Overwhelmed by
the nature spectacle we continue our journey along Lake
Taupo and enjoying it's wonderful view to
the 2797 m (9175 feet) tall Mount Ruapehu.

We continue our journey by
Dessert Road
to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. |
| |
|
Thursday, Day
5 |
Wellington
- Nelson |
|

Before we leave the
northern island to the southern, first we will visit the brandnew
Nationalmuseum of New Zealand named Te
Papa.

In the afternoon
we are leaving north island by ferry Interislander
or by katamaran The Lynx to Picton.

Crossing the the Cook Strait
and the beautiful Marlboro Sounds we have plenty opportunity to take
pictures. From Picton we follow the Tasman Bay to Nelson,
the first city in New Zealand.

Nelson and the surrounding
region is enjoying statistically the most hours
of sunshine in New Zealand - ideal for us Motorcyclists - they talk about more
than 400(!) Motorcyclists living in and around Nelson... |
| |
|
Friday, Day 6 |
Nelson
- Franz Josef |
|

Our trip takes us
on the famous Buller Gorge Road
in a southern direction
to Westport, to the Tasman
Sea with its beaches crowded
with sea lions, crossing Cape
Foulwind
and straight on southwards

to the Pancake
Rocks. We get a close
up of the blowholes
orchestrated by the sea.

Next we are passing Greymouth, the old goldtown Ross and enjoy the all encompassing
landscape with its impressive mountains, the green
rain forest and the Tasman Sea
to our right. Quarters for the
night will be below Franz Josef Glacier. |
| |
|
Saturday, Day
7 |
Franz
Josef - Queenstown |
|

For early riser there
is a possibility to do a helicopter-flight to the Franz
Josef Glacier. Passing Fox
Glacier, another majestic glacier,
we are leaving the Tasman
Sea over the Haast
Pass and reach Lake
Wanaka and finally
the city of Wanaka and Puzzling World.

A deserted street
between Wanaka and Queenstown leads us finally to the most
adventurous city of New Zealand where
every night feels like
saturday night - Queenstown.

Dinner, is possible
to spend at the
Colonel's Homestead Restaurant
of the Walter
Peak
High Country Sheep Farm. A short farmtour
will give you views of the farm-work in New Zealand.

We will reach the
farm by the oldest steamship of New Zealand,
the TSS
Earnslaw. On Lake
Wakatipu we cruise to the Walter
Peak Station
and enjoy the wonderful scenic. |
| |
|
Sunday, Day 8 |
Queenstown
- Lake Tekapo |
|

Highlights over highlights.
New Zealand's tallest mountain, the snow covered Mount
Cook with its 3.754 m (13,316 feet) awaits us and in the foothills
the world famous
Hermitage Hotel.

With its unmistakeable
charm it is one of the few hotels on
this earth that one has
to visit in a lifetime. You are one of them and by drinking a cup
of coffee you can have a look to the Mount Cook.

After this excursion
we are riding back along Lake Pukaki to our hotel for
the night direct at the Lake Tekapo. |
|
|
|
Monday, Day 9 |
Lake
Tekapo - Christchurch |
|

Also this day on
the road awaits us with unforgetable views.
Visiting the
Church Of The Good Shephard at Lake
Tekapo we take the Inland Scenic Route to Christchurch.

Shure there will
be time to visit the Cathedral Square,

visit
the Canterbury
Nationalmuseum or simply go shopping. |
|
|
|
Tuesday, Day
10 |
Christchurch
- Wellington |
|
|

Wonderful roads,
the Alpine Pacific Triangle. On your left the mountains and
on your right the blue Pacific. That is New Zealand pure.

We pass the Marlborough
Wine-Area and finally reach Picton, where we take the
ferry to Wellington
in the late afternoon.
|
|
|
|
Wednesday, Day
11 |
Wellington
- Napier |
|
|

In front of us the
whole northisland. After leaving Masterton and Hastings
we are reaching Napier.
The town was rebuilt after the earthquake
of 1931 in style of art-deco. The Marine Parade at
the sea is an absolutely must, for here you find museum and art-galery
and a special Kiwihouse.
We will spend the night in an original art-deco hotel
near the beach.
|
|
|
|
Thursday, Day
12 |
Napier
- Auckland |
|
|

On our way northwestwards
to Taupo we are happy of the nearly untouched
nature and forests. After meeting Lake Taupo
again we will cross Hamilton to Auckland, where we drop off our
Motorcycles
at the rental-station. In the evening you are welcome for
our Farewell-Dinner where
we all remember
the tour again. JOIN
