Munich
- Brenner - Prato - Viareggio -
Massa Marittima
- Prato - Brenner - Munich
|
|
|
|
Saturday, Day 1 |
Munich -
Brenner |
|
|
We assemble at the rental station in Munich, pick up
our motorcycles and ride south to our hotel in the Brenner Pass, where we
have Welcome-Drinks and dinner in a well-known restaurant. |
| |
|
Sunday, Day
2 |
Brenner
- Prato |
|
|
Early in the morning we speed south down the freeway to
Bozen, Verona and Bologna, and towards Florence to our first night’s
accommodation in theTuscan town of Prato. |
| |
|
Monday, Day
3 |
Prato
- Viareggio |
|

On our first day in Tuscany we head north to the famous Montecatini
thermal springs with an excursion to the Parco di Pinocchio.

After passing Lucca we cross over to the Tuscan
Copacabana. Naturally we take a break in one of the beautiful
beach cafés. We drive alongside the white sandy beaches of the Versilia
and spend the night in a historic hotel on the Viareggio seafront. Those
who wish can enjoy the rest of the day on the beach or ride to the
marble city of Carrara. |
| |
|
Tuesday, Day
4 |
Viareggio -
Massa Marittima |
|

We leave Viareggio and head towards Massa Marittima. We take a break in
Pisa, where we experience the fascination of the once richest sea republic
of Italy with her emblem the Leaning Tower.

Then we climb through
picturesque landscapes with cypresses and olive groves high up into the
Tuscan hills to San Gimignano, a history laden medieval town,
with reputedly, the most beautiful views of Tuscany. We take the time to
confirm this claim, and then set off over wonderful hilly country towards
Massa Marittima. We stay two nights in the centre of this medieval town. |
| |
|
Wednesday, Day
5 |
Massa Marittima |
|

Today is the highlight of our tour. On one side is the Maremma,
with a view of the island of Elba off the coast, and on the
other side the Tuscan hill country.

Water warmed to 32 degrees flows through the
Thermal Springs of Saturnia, and we carry on through
numerous, semi-abandoned mountain villages through the Tuscan highlands.
Warning is given of winding roads, such as can only be found in Tuscany.
At night, overwhelmed by fantastic impressions of our day, we sleep
soundly enjoying sweet dreams. |
| |
|
Thursday, Day
6 |
Massa Marittima - Prato |
|

We travel through marvelous landscapes, through the medieval town of Siena
and then north by way of Castellina in Chianti, along the Strada in
Chianti. Westwards, we pass through Vinci (there's a museum
dedicated to the famous son of that town, Leonardo da Vinci), through the
Apuanic Alps with Monte Albano, arriving in
Pistoia and Prato, where we spend our last night in Tuscany. |
| |
|
Friday, Day 7 |
Prato - Brenner |
|
|
Taking the Autostrada, we leave Tuscany and head back
to the hotel at the Brenner Pass where we reminisce about our "Tuscan
Adventure" over our Farewell-Dinner. |
| |
|
Saturday, Day
8 |
Brenner - Munich |
|
|
Homeward bound, we drop off our motorcycles in Munich,
and with the memories of our Tuscan tour fresh in our minds, wend our
separate ways homeward. JOIN US. |
